JAZZY AND HER SCOLIOSIS
As a family we chose to share some of the amazing miracles and events that took place in Jazzy's 19th year.
If you do not know about Jazzy and her history, take a few moments and read the HOME page and the ABOUT page.
Some of you may or may not know, but 6 years ago, Jazzy who is high functioning Autistic, was diagnosed with severe scoliosis and had a large hump on her back and suffered severe pain. At the time we were informed that Jazzy's situation was serious and may need complicated surgery, we were also informed it could never be healed. It was a sad occasion at the time, as Jasmine had to give up her favourite activity, her dancing. But Jasmine did not give up on her Joyful and fun quirky nature and never stopped believing she would be healed.
We sort other opinions and prayerfully did a lot of research and chose a different path to surgery. Jazzy was treated regularly through massage and chiropractic services and engaged in certain exercises and posture adjustments.
Well in 2019 we can now claim her hump is gone, her pain has gone and there is now virtually no signs of scoliosis, what a miracle and we thank our creator for such a life defining miracle for our daughter Jazzy.
ACL INJURY
3 years ago jazzy simply stepped of a skateboard, it was her very first ride and she injured her knee, 6 months later it was exasperated by a fall when she was playing a game of tug of war. It got worse when she had a rollerskating accident, yes you might think Jazzy was accident prone, but we do believe at the time it was her scoliosis that gave Jazzy a sense of off balance. Jazzy also had another accident whilst she was dancing around in her Dorothy costume at Oz Comic con and event where she gets to dress up, something she so much loves to do.
I have inserted two iPhone videos showing Jazzy happily being Jazzy, dancing in the crowd just before her accident and then a second video of Jazzy, (the very next day, after visiting the hospital emergency) and here she is once again dancing, but this time in a wheel chair.
Check out the two videos here
You just cannot stop Jazzy being Jazzy, she just continues to share her joy and just knows how to enjoy herself.
Sadly though her knee has become quite serious and her ACL is torn so badly that it is only hanging by a thread and so we are praying for the next miracle of which jazzy has no doubt and believes her faith and constant strengthening will heal her knee....So please we would appreciate your prayers on this, though I will add Jazzy appears to be getting stronger and has still kept up dancing, though in a very restrained and careful way.

UNIVERSITY
Now the biggest miracle and greatest event in Jazzy' life.
At the beginning of 2019, the last thing we ever believed is that our joyful, fun quirky autistic teenager, who was homeschooled, but struggled academically all her child hood, due to her slow learning challenges, short memory and autistic functioning, would ever enter university ...it was so far beyond our comprehension and our greatest concerns were, how was Jazzy ever going to be able to further her education, beyond what we as parents tried our best to do?
Well Jazzy being Jazzy, her joyful quirky funny self, was spotted amongst a group of teenagers at a community event. She had stood out and a social worker working for youth services, saw how gifted Jazzys was with her Ipad, as well as how she socially engaged in a spirit of contribution, showing other teenagers her online creativity.
Well I as her father nearly fell to the floor, when I got a phone call saying that they might just be able to get Jasmine into University, to study her favourite subjects, IT and ARTS DESIGN...well the miracles of all miracles, jazzy did get accepted and all expenses were covered and she was fully supported by a full time social worker who sat beside her and supported everyday as she attended classes in her first schooling environment.
Jazzy also succeeded, she past and you will see a video of Jazzy who was so excited about uni that she danced into her class room and there is a photo of one excited uni student when she proudly held her It Certificate.
One more miracle the university on finding out that Jazzy had a very soar knee also provide weekly treatment from an osteopath at no cost to her ....probably why her knee after a year of treatment is gaining strength.
This year, 2020, jazzy has successfully passed all interviews and tests and has been invited to attend her second full-time university education, in the arts design course. Once again, she is supplied with a support worker to sit with her full time over the next 12 moths and costs are covered. Jazzy is having her first xmas break ,away from school, but she just cannot wait to go back to UNI and begin her Cert 4 Arts and design course.
Click on the video below and see just how Jazzy dances into UNI she is so excited on her "FIRST DAY"
